Since you will be counting your exercise reps and timing your rest periods, it is easier to complete the workouts on your own. Since all of the exercises in the first three phases of the SpecForce Alpha tactical fitness system are bodyweight, very little equipment is required. Although you won’t need any weights or machines, you will need a few pieces of basic equipment that are commonly used for bodyweight training.

For the SpecForce Alpha program, you will need access to a pull-up bar or another bar set-up for inverted rows. There are several different options when it comes to what you can use for inverted rows. You can use a squat rack or Smith machine if you’re at a gym. You can also use a set of rings or a TRX. Or if you’re at home, you can get creative with a sturdy broom or pipe and some strong chairs.

You’ll also need a box for box jumps. If you’re at home, jumping up onto a set of stairs might be an option depending on the layout of your house.  

Lastly, you’ll need a bench or a sturdy equivalent for bench dips.

The very last phase, that is, the final three months of the program, include the following pieces of equipment to add weighted resistance: chains, a thick resistance band or an optional ripcord as a substitute.

You’ll need only a couple accessories in order to successfully do the SpecForce Alpha tactical fitness system.

You’ll need to a phone or tablet to download the Black Ops MacroFlex app. The app is free and it can do several things to make life easier for you.

First of all, it will help you keep track of your macronutrient intake. You’ll be given a certain amount of protein, fat, and carbohydrates to eat each day. You can also enter your food intake throughout the day, letting you know at a quick glance when you’ve reached your macros for the 24 hour period.

The app also includes an interval timer. This will be extremely useful in the workouts. Whether you’re timing rest periods between exercises, between sets, or using it for your plyometric intervals, it is much easier to use an interval timer than it is to track yourself any other way.

Workout Program Phase 1

The first phase of the SpecForce Alpha tactical fitness system will introduce you to the basic exercises you’ll need to know for the entire program. And this first phase is aptly called “Basic Operation.”

In it, you are given three separate “missions,” which are month long training cycles. Again, the names given to each of the three missions are common military references: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie.

Each workout will begin with a 4 to 5 minute dynamic warm-up. A set of lower body stretches is also included which is a part of your cool down.

Workout Program Phase 2

Workout Program Phase 3

In this third phase of the SpecForce Alpha tactical fitness system, you’ll be required to complete three more missions in the Special Forces Operator phase. Workout Program Phase 4

The one thing we do find to be lacking in this year-long program is a Quick Start Guide. This would be extremely helpful to the man logging into the membership website and finding himself staring at a download page of 20 ebooks.

We suggest that you begin with the following:

  • download and read the SFA manual. It also has some exercise descriptions in the last half of the book. The other exercise descriptions are on the page labelled, “Videos.”
  • download the free MacroFlex diet app. It also has an interval timer for your workouts.
  • download your first phase of workouts: “Basic Operation Alpha Mission” and the “Calendar Alpha Block.”
  • download and read the “7 Day Testosterone Solution” and begin to gradually implement the diet changes as suggested.
